The Davie County Arts Council, Inc. was established in 1975 as a non-profit organization and promotes and sponsors the discovery, appreciation, and enrichment of the arts throughout Davie County. Located on historic Main Street in the Town of Mocksville, the Arts Council is centrally positioned to carry out its mission of "Connecting People to the ARTS!"

In addition to community outreach programs and arts education for children, the Arts Council schedules and presents arts events and performances at the Brock Performing Arts Center (BPAC). In October of 1994, a campaign was launched to raise capital funds to renovate the Old Mocksville Elementary and High School Auditorium, which originally opened in 1951. It was used for 44 years for school chapel programs, school and community drama presentations, music recitals, pageants, concerts, religious services, meetings, and instructional classes. The renovated facility opened in 1998 as the BPAC.

The 485-seat center is available for rent by the community and professional performers with special rates for non-profit organizations. Also, the BPAC has gallery space to host exhibits by local artists, children in the Davie County Schools and traveling exhibits from the North Carolina Museum of Art. The Community Theatre presents at least two shows per year in the center. Contact the box office at (336) 751-3000 or at daviearts.org for tickets and additional information.

The Davie County Arts Council is currently collecting data for development of a local artist directory for use by the community. If you are a local artist, please contact the Council at 751-3112 with your information. Opportunities exist for many types of volunteers. Help is needed with special events and promotions, box office, clerical, hanging of art exhibits, and ushers for performances.
